The really got people thinking and I’m happy to say that a number of people got back to me with their views and their experiences about their opinion on the best closed litter boxes. (For those of you who have not read my previous post, this is in relation to ‘The Closed Litter Box Conundrum‘ which I published a few days back). The responses of everyone reflected that most people had narrowed down all the options to two simple and basic litter boxes. In fact, some even called their choice of litter box the best closed litter box that they had ever found!
THE TRIXIE VICO CAT LITTER BOX
The Trixie Vico Cat Litter Tray with Dome seems to have won the hearts of many cats and their owners. In fact, there have been so many people who have messaged me with positive reviews, that I am considering getting one for my baby Jynx.
Since so many people attest that this is the best closed litter box in the market, I decided that it was about time that I reviewed it again.
The four different color combinations that Trixie uses, gives the litter box a unique look. The design is simple with the two halves of the litter box joining to form one single enclosed structure. The handle at the top aids in portability and the door flap provides an access route for the cat.
Most of us have faced problems with urine leaks. Cat litter being spread around also ranks high on our list of problems. Fortunately for us, the Trixie Vico Cat litter box comes with a double rim. This rim helps to prevent spills. Since the litter box is fully covered, you avoid the spray of litter from scattering all over the room. Now your cat can enjoy scratching in his litter box without you having to clean up your house every time he uses it!
THE SAVIC NESTOR CORNER CAT TOILET
The other litter box which ranked almost as high as the Trixie Vico Cat litter box was the Savic Nestor Corner Cat Toilet. The design of this litter box is a little different when compared to the Trixie litter box. Like the previous litter box, it has two haves which can be joined together. The opening flap allows the cat to move in and out of the litter box with ease.
A point that I noticed is that people who had small cats tended to rank this as the best closed litter box. This is because the space that a cat has inside the litter box is smaller than the the Trixie litter box. While some may see this as a downside to the litter box, many see it in a more positive light.
The Savic Nestor Corner Cat toilet is designed to be used in small houses and for people with small sized cats. It is triangular in shape. As the name suggests, this litter box is meant to fit in the corners. What really earns it brownie points is the fact that it is inconspicuous and can easily be placed out of the way.
So what do you think? Have I managed to zone in on the the best cat litter box? Do you have a better option out there? Don’t hesitate to get back to me and let me know if you do!
